Al fresco wedding in Tuscany

Lonneke & Dario’s al fresco wedding in Tuscany, where love meets memories

An al fresco wedding in Tuscany that perfectly captures the essence of Lonneke and Dario’s wedding day — a celebration rooted in meaning and place. As Tuscany wedding photographers, we are drawn to stories where locations are more than beautiful backdrops, but living parts of the narrative. This was exactly the case at Dario’s family countryside home in Villa Magna, a small village near Florence, which became the heart of a day that felt intimate, authentic, and deeply emotional.

The ceremony

Lonneke and Dario choose to gather their loved ones in a place that truly belongs to them. Their ceremony took place in the small village church, a simple and heartfelt moment that reflected their essence. From there, something truly special unfolded: instead of cars or formal transfers, everyone walked together through the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by olive trees and cypress lines, slowly making their way back to the villa. It was one of those rare moments where time seems to stretch — where connection, laughter, and landscape become one.

Back at the villa, the atmosphere shifted naturally into a relaxed and joyful al fresco celebration. The aperitivo flowed into an outdoor dinner, with long tables set under the open sky, where conversations, light, and summer air blended effortlessly. These are the moments we love to capture as wedding photographers in Italy — the in-between, the spontaneous, the real.

The day was filled with meaningful and unique touches. One of the most memorable was the bouquet moment: instead of a traditional toss, Lonneke tied multiple ribbons to the bouquet, each held by a friend. Without looking, she cut them one by one until only one ribbon remained — a simple yet emotional way to create anticipation and connection. Later, Dario opened a bottle of champagne with a sabrage, adding a bold and celebratory gesture to the evening.

As Tuscany wedding photographers, telling stories like this through wedding photos means capturing not only how a wedding looks, but how it feels. Lonneke and Dario’s day was a perfect balance of elegance and intimacy, tradition and personality — a true reflection of an al fresco wedding in Tuscany, in the place that matters most.
