Gilda and Niccolò’s wedding at Villa di Lilliano
Gilda and Niccolò have been part of our story for a long time
Having the honour of photographing their wedding was incredibly meaningful to us. A few months earlier we had photographed their winter engagement session in Florence, in the Giardino dell’Orticoltura. Meeting them again at Villa di Lilliano, in the hills just outside Florence, felt like turning the page to the next chapter of their story.
They chose the villa for an intimate and elegant celebration with their closest friends and family. Its historic architecture, the gardens and the view over Florence were the perfect setting for their day.
Getting ready at the villa
Both Gilda and Niccolò got ready at the villa, surrounded by the people closest to them. The morning was full of those small, quiet moments that make getting ready such an important part of the story: the anticipation, the laughter, the final touches and the excitement of knowing the day was about to begin.
A ceremony above Florence
Their civil ceremony took place on the terrace overlooking Florence. With the city stretching out beneath them and the Tuscan countryside all around, they exchanged their vows in a setting that felt both spectacular and deeply intimate.
Aperitivo and dinner in the garden
After the ceremony the celebration moved to the garden for the aperitivo. As the afternoon turned into evening, the light became warmer and softer, and the guests could relax, talk and enjoy the beginning of the party.
We love photographing what happens around the main moments just as much as the moments themselves: a spontaneous laugh, a hug between friends, a glass raised in a toast, the way the evening light falls across the garden.
Dinner was served in the garden at sunset, with the last warm light of the day around the tables. It was one of those evenings that unfold naturally, needing nothing more than good food, good company and the Tuscan landscape.
Knowing Gilda and Niccolò so well made this wedding even more special for us. We could simply be there with them, from the excitement of getting ready to the intimacy of the ceremony and the joy of the evening. These photos continue a story we feel lucky to have been part of for so long.
