Gilda and Niccolò’s winter engagement photos in Florence

Winter engagement photos are always something special, especially when the couple in front of our cameras are close friends. Gilda and Niccolò are part of our story, and photographing their wedding felt incredibly meaningful to us. Before the big day, we wanted to give them a gift: a relaxed pre wedding shoot in Florence, to help them feel at ease and truly enjoy being photographed.

The greenhouse at Giardino dell’Orticoltura

For this session, we chose the Giardino dell’Orticoltura, a hidden gem in the city. The highlight was the Tepidarium del Roster, a Liberty style greenhouse, whose elegant structure and soft winter light created a magical atmosphere. We also explored the panoramic entrance of the Orti del Parnasso, with its spectacular view over Florence.

The Giardino dell’Orticoltura was a quiet, elegant setting that felt intimate even in the heart of the city. Winter light and the glass structure of the greenhouse added softness, reflections and a timeless mood.

A first photoshoot together

Neither Gilda nor Niccolò had ever done a professional photoshoot before, and that’s exactly why this moment mattered so much. For us, engagement sessions are not just about beautiful images, but about connection and confidence. This shoot let them experience what it feels like to be photographed, get comfortable in front of the camera and arrive on their wedding day feeling natural and completely themselves.

Light and shadow inside a historic building

The second part of the session took place inside a historic building, where a large window became a key element of our storytelling. The natural light coming through the stained glass let us play with light and shadow, creating strong contrasts and a more intimate mood. These moments allowed Gilda and Niccolò to slow down, forget the camera and simply be together.

Sessions like this remind us why we love telling stories before the wedding day even begins. They are about building trust, sharing time and creating images that feel true, so that when the wedding day arrives, everything flows effortlessly, just like it did with Gilda and Niccolò.
