Thomas and Sarah’s two day Indian wedding in Florence

Photographing Thomas and Sarah’s wedding is an experience we will never forget. They dreamed of a celebration in Florence that could beautifully bring together Sarah’s Indian heritage, her Catholic faith, the timeless elegance of Italy and the people they love.

Why Florence

For Thomas, the city holds a special place in his heart: he spent time studying here during college, and this personal connection was one of the reasons they chose to come back to Italy for their wedding.

They dreamed of a very traditional and elegant Indian Catholic wedding, with a refined palette of white, gold accents and lush greenery. From the villa to the church, every detail was designed to highlight the classical beauty of Florence. Even while celebrating in Italy, Thomas and Sarah wanted to pay homage to their families and cultural roots throughout every event.

Two days together, from the pre wedding shoot to the welcome party

We met Sarah and Thomas just a few days before the wedding for their pre wedding photoshoot in Florence, and then at their welcome party. This gave us the chance to connect, break the ice and discover how they move together naturally. We explored gestures, movements and interactions that genuinely reflect their way of being together.

Ognissanti and Villa il Garofalo

By the time the wedding day arrived, everything felt effortless: they were relaxed, confident, fully present and able to enjoy every moment. The ceremony took place at the Chiesa di San Salvatore in Ognissanti, a Catholic church in Florence, and was led by two priests who were deeply close to the couple.

It was followed by a reception back at Villa il Garofalo, overlooking the rooftops of Florence and steeped in quiet history. Just a short distance from the city centre, the villa has a beautiful garden with breathtaking views over Florence, and there guests gathered for dinner under a canopy of soft lights.

The combination of Indian traditions and attire with a clean, timeless and classic Florentine aesthetic created a stunning harmony of colours, music, personalities and emotions. We were truly honoured to be by their side.
